I was wondering if somebody could tell me something about Jove. I was reading a translation of The Illiad and it spoke of Jove and that he was king of the gods. I always thought Zeus was king of the Greek Gods. Is Jove another name for Zeus? Could somebody please help. Thank you very much.

It is another name for Zeus, but I'm not sure which culture calls him that.

Look Here.

This is a very good chart of Greek and Roman Gods. As you can see, it says, "Zeus - Jupiter - Jove"

Jove/is is the Latin name of Zeus, along with Juppiter, mutated from the double theme the word has in Latin (Iuppiter-Iovis).
